
The Interdisciplinary Workshop on Legal Psychiatry and Humanization has taken place at the Hotel Bahía!
This event served as a platform to address strategic, healthcare, and ethical-legal challenges in the humanization of the psychiatric environment.
A wide range of key topics were discussed, including informed consent in the new support system for the exercise of legal capacity, jurisprudential criteria on disability support, legal psychiatry in penitentiary contexts, and the care of patients with diverse profiles.
The workshop was led by Joaquín Cayón, Head of the Legal Advisory Service of the Ministry of Health, and Jesús Artal Simón, Head of the Psychiatry Department at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital. Additionally, it featured the participation of María Souto, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, and María Isabel Priede Díaz, Director General of Pharmacy, Humanization, and Socio-Health Coordination, along with various experts from the legal, medical, and academic fields.
The event concluded with a valuable discussion space, where invited experts shared their insights and knowledge on the subject.
